The Daiquiri

No cocktail list is complete without a daiquiri in some form. Usually a fruity frozen delight, the original drink was something much more simple. Originating from Cuba where rum was plentiful, this classic consists only of sugar, lime juice (fresh of course) and white rum, shaken intensely over plenty of ice and strained into a small coupe.

This is one classic in which its variations may actually be better than the original. The frozen daiquiri can be made with almost any flavour, from beach holidays to at home parties its a guaranteed crowd pleaser.

Daiquiri's are a personal go-to of mine when home entertaining; they can be whipped up in a blender in a large batch, perfect for serving everyone at once. In fact I don't think there is a flavour I haven't tried, but I always come back to Strawberry.

Strawberry Daiquiri

3-4 large strawberries

45ml White rum

30ml Strawberry liquor

15ml Strawberry syrup

Blend all ingredients together with ice until they reached desired slushie consistency.
